As promised I have finally written a new post. I will try my best to post more on the blog until the end of December than I have the last few months. Let this be my present to you guys. 🙂 Lately I have been sensitive to strong scents so I was on the lookout for something with a more delicate scent. When I was wandering between the shelves in Muller this Nivea shower mousse intrigued me, especially because it said it was new. Although I find these kind of shower products wasteful I still decided to try it. Because there were two foam I chose the one with the almond oil.
The packaging is the same as with other shower foams, shaving foams. The packaging itself is a light blue, white color with dark blue writing. Nice. I always shake it before use. The foam has a gentle scent, Nivea like. The foam itself is thick, rich and spreads nicely on the skin so I don’t use a lot. In the beginning I used to apply too much, but now I know better. It cleans nicely and washes off easily. It leaves a delicate scent on the skin that doesn’t linger for long. The foam itself is also good for shaving.
I have extremely dry skin on my legs in the winter but this mousse doesn’t dry it out I could even say that it moisturizes it a little bit so I’m surprisingly impressed and I will definitely buy it again. I paid around 3€ for it and I bought it in Muller.
Often I’m asked how I clean my make-up brushes and that’s why I decided to write a short post about it. Short because there’s nothing special or complicated about cleaning brushes. 🙂 For better understanding I also made a short video that shows you how I clean them.
What do I use to clean my brushes? If something is good to clean the make-up from my face then it’s also good enough to clean my brushes. So for cleaning my brushes I mostly use my Nuxe Reve de Miel facial cleansing gel which is gentle to my brushes and also cleans them well. Not so long ago I decided to try a brush cleaning soap from Barbara Hofmann that I bought in Muller and paid around 10€. Before that I also used any regular solid soap that was for sensitive skin and fragrance free.
I used to use my palm for cleaning the brushes but because the number of my brushes has increased and my hands are quite sensitive I decided to buy a widget for cleaning. One is shaped as an egg that I put on my fingers and has deeper creases, the other one is a bit larger and can be suctioned to the sink or you can hold it between your fingers and has more delicate creases. That’s why I use the first one for face brushes and the other one for smaller brushes.
When I’m cleaning face brushes that I use with cream or liquid products I use hot tap water because it’s faster this way. I’m a bit more careful when doing that so that the hot water doesn’t melt the adhesive that holds the bristles together because I would ruin the brush that way. In the end, when the brush is clean, I use lukewarm water and turn the brush vertically and gently wash the soap between the bristles. As you can see in the video I’m more “rough” with the brush with synthetic bristles (1. brush) and more careful with the brush with natural or mixed bristles (2. and 3. brush). I put soap on the brush until the foam isn’t clean and in the end I always clean it well and I’m careful that it’s not foaming anywhere.
When I wash the brush I also rub it on a clean towel to remove as much water from it. When I clean all the brushes I place them horizontally on a clean towel and I usually put them on a washing machine so that the bristles don’t touch the towel and they dry much faster. I let them dry overnight and the next day they are usually ready to use. Never leave the brushes vertically positioned with the bristles facing upwards. If you have the option or you have a rack for drying brushes, always position them with bristles facing downwards so the water drips from the brush.
That would be all as far as cleaning the brushes go. Easy right? 🙂 I clean my brushes for applying foundation more often (at least once a month) and the others when necessary. Because I want you to take care of your brushes I prepared a small GIVEAWAY.

I haven’t reviewed a shower gel yet, but it’s a fact that I of course use one, every day. 🙂 I decided to start with the one from Bebe, because it’s the first, after a while, that really surprised me. The gel is actually a shower cream for dry skin.
I have pretty dry and sensitive skin, especially on my legs I occasionally get flaky skin. Most shower gels dry out my skin and that’s why I’m really excited if I find a gel, that doesn’t dry out my skin. And so it was with this one.
The gel comes in a white bottle with a pink lid and pink lettering. The gel itself is milky white. I use the gel with a mesh loofah (on the pic), because it foams the best this way. The foam is really rich and creamy, which I like the best. The scent is delicate, not too strong. It stays on the skin for about an hour. It washes nicely, rinses off easily and doesn’t leave a film on the skin.
I like to change my shower gels, creams, so I probably won’t buy it until winter. Otherwise, I do recommend it. I don’t know the price, because it was a gift, but I think that you can buy it in Muller.
Although I’m fully committed to Lush bath bombs, I do occasionally use a bubble bar. So this time I used The Comforter bubble bar. The bar is pink and white with a spiral pattern and an irregular flat oval shape.
The scent is quite fruity with an addition of citruses. To me it smells very nice, invigorating. Lush claims that the main note is blackcurrant and I totally agree. I really like the scent.
To get a good foam you have to crumble the bubble bar under running water. The bigger the chunk you use, the stronger the scent, the water gets more colorful and there’s more foam. I usually use half of the bar and that’s enough for me. You can use less, but I don’t recommend using more. The water colored to a soft pink.
It didn’t dry out my skin, which doesn’t surprise me, because baths from Lush usually never do. The bath also contains a little bit of oil, namely the bergamot oil and the cypress oil. The skin was slightly scented after the bath, the scent lingered for about two hours. I recommend it. 🙂
